Machanents House is a social enterprise that has been operating since 2010, in Echmiadzin. As a result of social entrepreneurship activities, cultural centers have been opened in charitable cultural non-governmental organization "Cross of Armenian Unity", in Ejmiatsin: an art school, a theater, a children's gallery, etc. Machanents House organizes dinners, master classes for tourists, there is also an Art Hotel and Guest House, where guests can spend their unforgettable vacation by choosing one of the themed rooms, as well as see many items of Armenian lifestyle in the archaeological and ethnographic museums. Here you can taste various dishes of traditional Armenian cuisine, take part in master classes of making dolma, lavash, traditional gata, halva, pickle, sujukh and other. You can learn traditional Armenian cooking methods, witness the traditional wine making ceremony. Pottery, painting, rug making, carpet making, batik, theater and Armenian national costume master classes will make your vacation even more interesting. The "Song of the Old Days" social restaurant was opened in Machanents House, in June 2019, where people aged 63 and older work and serve, and the restaurant is furnished in a style reminiscent of our grandparents' house. There are galleries in the area: "Endza" gallery exhibits and sells the paintings of artist Endza. "Machanents International Gallery" exhibits and sells paintings by foreign artists. In the "Meeting with Machanents" hall, the works of art of Grigor Machanents Babakhanyan (the founder of the "Cross of Armenian Unity" NGO and the "Machanents House") are displayed and sold.. In the "Children's Art Gallery" the works of the students of Art School are displayed and sold. Wine lovers can enjoy Machanents wine made in an ancient threshing machine at the "Wine House of World Poets" and get acquainted with fragments of world thought about wine. Here is also the Solar kitchen, unique in the region, which works thanks to the solar plates created by the Armenian inventor. Here you can taste ecologically clean and delicious food prepared by the rays of the sun. There are museums in the area, "Machanents Archaeological Museum" presents ancient items of Armenian lifestyle. "Pottery Museum" presents copies of Armenian pottery samples with a history of up to 5000 years. As a result of more than 35 years of activity, craftsmen have created and continue to create handmade items: natural sheep wool rugs, carpets, pottery, jewelry and various symbolic souvenirs, which can be seen and purchased at the Souvenir Hall in Machanents House.
